Lifting The Shadow Curse possible bug? ((SPOILERS))

So I don't know if I didn't do something right but I can't get Halsin's dialogue to trigger.
For context: I haven't done the Moonrise Towers quest yet and I haven't done the Nightsong quest either.

I found Art at the Inn, found his lute at the Healing place, brought it back, talked to him, and watched over Halsin as he entered a portal to find Thaniel.
From there you're supposed to find Oliver at the dilapidated house which I did. You enter into a short battle where you have to defeat his mom, dad and dog and after that Halsin is supposed to have dialogue right there or possibly back at camp(there, I'm not sure).

Has anyone successfully completed this quest? I'm trying to romance Halsin and I hope I'm just messing up somewhere.

I'm having the same issue. I haven't gone back to the house with Oliver, though, so maybe Ill go try that. Mine is stuck with the "go talk to Halsin back at camp" and it won't progress further than that. I have done every dialogue option with the man - nada. I posted a conversation, too, so maybe someone will be able to help us.

Were you able to get the letter from underneath Art by any chance? I rolled a high enough perception roll and it won't let me grab it. (total side note. I don't know if it has anything to do with the quest)

No, I don't think i grabbed any letter - i went back and looked, but nothing happened for me. I think my game is breaking lol

Okay, so I JUST figured the quest out. You need to not touch the area where Oliver is until you can have Halsin in your party. Then the quest is all fine and dandy.

Seems like you can just return to camp and talk to Halsin and tell him you found the area and the boy and that you killed him and he will tell you to return to the area... (I am doing this now... with Halsin in the party just to be safe) ....

Yup It worked ... found Oliver by the tree just outside the house, talking to him triggered the next part....

Found a fix! “Meet Halsin In camp” was stuck and so was Oliver opening the portal even after playing hide and seek with him then doing the small battle. Oliver would just say “You beat me I think you cheated” and that’s it. So I hit Oliver, then he opened the portal and went inside. After battle with him seems now the mission progressed and the “Meet Halsin In camp” was now gone. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I did that, totally broke the entire quest. Can't remove the curse on the lands, can't recruit Halsin. Pretty insanely game breaking bug to allow in launch. Pretty much screwed my playthrough to have a big bear tank. Oh well!

To expand upon this since it took me a while to get working. You need to go to that location WITHOUT Halsin in the party, and then go to the camp to talk to him. Only then will Halsin say that perhaps the kid isnt dead.

I did the hide and seek sequence before any of the other steps of the quest and I completed it just fine.

I can say that I won the second round of hide n' seek if that matters, and after talking to Oliver and saying "go home" I had to go through a portal and fight his family while he was bubbled. The curse doesn't lift or complete until after you finish Act 2 though.

I did the hide and seek with Oliver (ended up killing him) and came back after Halsin told me to, and he is here, but can't be interacted with. Do i gotta bring Halsin to the kid or its just bugged ?

This bug is so annoying, I defeated the boss of Act 2 and got Halsin in my party but nothing happens when I go back to where I killed Oliver. On top of that Halsin is now STUCK in my party, he's only got one dialog option and it's just him saying we should go back to where we saw Oliver.

Love this game but how tf did it go out with this game breaking bug????????
