Issues connecting to LAN party
My wife bought the game on her account and started to play the game on my account so she could test the game and possibly get a refund on her account if she didn't like it but then I bought it to play with her. Now we both are playing and wanted to do a LAN party but every time we try to join each other it says "connection issue, already connected" but that isn't accurate because we are both on different computers next to each other. I have restarted my computer twice to try to fix it, shut steam down through task manager several times and even tried direct connect and invite play. Nothing seems to work and We have even done the online multiplayer where it is shown with everyone else' server. Just trying to find a solution so we can party up.

Thanks

Hello,

I have a very similar problem.

My wife tried first to play with her laptop : we could enter a game together just fine, but the laptop performances were too low to properly play.
Then she tried to play the game on my old computer (which I used to play my steam games with) : "connection issue, already connected". Even though she is connected to her steam+Larian account,

We tried all the fix mentionned above + uninstall the game / uninstall steam / unlink the steam and Larian accounts / start the game from the .exe file = no success.

If someone finds a solution, we would be very interested to hear it :)

Did you try a reboot of your PCs and router? Sounds like an IP cache error where in doubt a DNS flush action might help.

I tried PC/router reboot, as well as DNS flush, with no success.

Similar problem that I was able to fix. First I had daughter sign into her own windows desktop. I turned off Steam cloud sync. I found her saved hidden Baldur's gate folder and deleted it. When I restarted the game, save file folder was recreated and the user agreement came up again. Prior to deleting the folder I did copy one of her saved game profiles with all her character data and pasted it into the newly created folder and problem solved.

This link gave me the clues to solve, but I think the key for me was to make sure the user is signed onto a different windows desktop.

1. Steam app komplett schliesen, auch den Hintergrundprozess.
2. Die bg3.exe als admin ausführen.
3. LAN game starten.

Funktioniert ohne Probleme. Ich denke das liegt an der Steamapp selbst

No matter what I try or do I can't connect to her game. I don't know if the issue is that she bought the game, played on my account on her computer to test the game to see if she liked it or not and then I played on my personal computer and account or what. I am really stumped because I really want to join her before I leave for a few months for trucking. No matter what I try ( I have tried verifying the files, uninstall and reinstall, editing the game files, viewing the Json files and seeing that info, running as admin, running a second instance Which I can't even connect to myself like the help guides say will work.) I am really annoyed at this point and it's a damn shame because the game is so much fun but I am tired of playing solo when my wife is literally right next to me wanting to play with me.

I fought with this problem yesterday and I finally found a solution. Not sure which one helped in that case exactly, but:
- Uninstalled the game on my girlfriends pc (she had game installed from my library)
- Removed all local files C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Larian Studios
- Reboot
- Installed the game
- Updated .net framework
- Disabled cloud save in game properties

Pretty sure removal of local files wasn't enough because I launched the game in the meantime and I had to repeat this step. I think cloud saves was the final solution for me. Hope some of it will work for you as well :)
