1) Going 3sorc/1warlock you can't use Pact Magic slots to cast any spell from sorc unless you're out of regular spell slots and vice versa. This includes Create Spell Points, which negates a large part of the reason to split levels between the two classes.
2) Same goes for Divine Smite when multiclassing with Paladin with the added benefit of being entirely unable to cast it as a reaction using warlock spell slots.
3) Like you, I also found that if the spells are shared between the two classes you get two 2nd level spell slots which is weird.
4) Only with 3 levels in warlock and 1 in bard/sorc I got to choose what spell slot you want to use even for spells not shared between the two classes. For example, when either Hex or Magic Missile I got the option to cast it using the 1st level spell slot from bard/sorc or the 2nd level from warlock. This one might be a "feature" I guess. Pact Magic is always cast using the highest available spell slot, and this might also apply regardless of which "pool" of spell slots you use. I just don't understand why this is the only scenario where I got to pick what kind of spell slot I want to use.
Edit: typos
I think all Warlock spell slots gets leveled up with the class. If you get 6 in Warlock, you won't have level 1 spell slots.
Same problem for me, just with a Sorcerer, Warlock multiclass.
Yes this is how warlock spell slots work. You have very limited spell slots available, but they are always cast at your max spell level.
I am also experiencing this bug. It seems to have crept it's way in via a recent patch. Running a warlock 5/paladin 2/sorcerer 5. I used to be able to select from all my regular spell slots and my pact magic spell slots when either casting a spell or using divine smite. Now only my regular spell slots appear. I can only use pact magic slots when regular ones are unavailable because they have all been used for the day. This obviously sucks. Larian please fix.
