Multiple traveler's chests BUG

My game crashed some time ago and when I restarted it, all the setting were reset to default. Including the showing of the tips. And when I loaded my latest save, the game spawned a new traveler's chest at my camp with the DLC items in it. I still had next to it my old traveler's chest with the items I had stored in it.

A few hours after this bug, the game crashed again and a new chest spawned again with the DLC items. So now I have 3 chests at camp.

It doesnt affect the gameplay for now but it sure looks weird, especially if this keeps happening.

I got 3 chests by now. It seems that sometimes if the game crashes (probably due to my machine) and resets its settings (the reset doesnt happen every time), a new chest appears.

I think it also only does it, if I send something to the camp.

Yeah Ive just had the party, finished allt he topside quests in Act 1, about to go to the underdark and now ive got 3 chests, and i dont want this save corrupted when this gets patched/fixed
Or you know, lose all my ♥♥♥♥ bc it sends stuff to them randomly when i hit send to camp

something else i've noticed regarding this bug (i have 4 chests now, and all the sudden lost the early access helm ...) when trying to long rest, if you have your food items in the wrong chest (not the one it automatically uses for "send to camp") you cant use that food in the long rest calculation until you move it to inventory or the correct chest. a little sketchy.

Same here. 4 chests and quadrupled deluxe items... However "send to camp" only uses one chest.

I have sent many items to camp and they have all vanished apart from the ones i have sent between the ship crashing and the druids enclave. I am at the camp now and only have 20 items in the travellers chest. Yet I have sent way more back to camp to sell latter on, but they have all vanished. Even the magical items.

Same happened to me on 18. August 2023. Hotfix#4 Version
Had the second chest and all after having repaired files by steam.
Game downloaded some files and then this duplication existed.
I suggest thet the repair function messes up with the itemlog the game is creating to know what items the Players allready have.
Also the newest duplicated chest is now/will be linked to "Send to Camp" function.
So all the stuff from other chest has to be transfered over f.e. camp supplies.

@fenlander: Check the old travelers chest, you might find all your items there. At least all items send before your game crashed and then created a new duplicated Chest in other color. All send items after crash should be in the newest chest then.

Everytime I open my last save it seems like it spanws another chest. I have 4 of them now and one of them actually prevents a companion moving away from it (not when I choose that companion but still) Is there a fix for this?

So I've rolled back to one of my saves with 2 chests (didn't lose any progress because bug & crashed happened after Shadowheart's quest ending for me) and I managed to keep chests limited to 2. Closed the game, opened again and I have 3 chests and tutorials have been reset again.

I have the same issue , the game crashed and then tutorials were all reset after file verification.
And now I have two Travelers chest in Act 2 , and my items from Act 1 area camp are gone.
They been on the other chests in the ground but not appearing in any Act2 camp areas, or Travellers chests.

Exact same issue here. Game crashed, when I started it up, tutorials had all reset, and I had a second travelers chest with all the DLC items. Sending items to camp now sends to the new chest

For anyone looking for a reason or solution to this, Larian emailed back after reporting this bug and said it was related to having multiple player profiles if the game has been launched multiple times at once or if you played split screen. Although I'm noticing that I don't have multiple (unless I'm looking in the wrong place) but it doesn't seem to be causing any issues besides all tutorials and settings being reset. I have played about 10 hrs(?) past when the issue first started with nothing else happening.

bump, also was this problem solved in new patch, now I have 4 chests ;/

One thing I've figured out causing it, at least it did for me, is when my cleared computer cache. It could be any type of optimizer, anti-virus, or any software that helps protect & declutter your computer doing it. Mine was the Dell SupportAssist that did it for me.
