Gale Is Bugged & Won't Consume My Artifacts

Gale Is Not Accepting any of my artifacts he needs to consume. I've repeatedly tried to donate, but to no avail and he ends up leaving my camp permanently. I've collected special items from party members and removed them all from group, I tried to give the artifacts to him with him being the only member in my party and still get the same results. How do I get him to consume these artifacts!? when given the artifacts my donate screen show and will not close when the Items are gone when I click the exit button Gale complains about me not giving him the Items. Please can someone help?

He won't accept just any magical item; he needs special ones. Keep an eye out for things like the staff being sold by the first vendor in the Druid's Grove. It has the attribute of "Create Water" on it. Small print at the bottom of the description of the item says that Gale would be grateful to you if it is donated to him. You need that small print on the item for Gale to accept it, I think.

Tried it - still leaves. I went for necromance book even. But I don't see onate option

I have a similar issue. I have the necromance book but as soon as Gale asks for the artefact, I only see clothing and weapons, I could give him (he won't take them). I tried to give him the book from the inventory and play as him but nothing seems to work. It is frustrating.

there is a way around this. I foun it in one of discussions here. I gave him the book only and closed the window immediately. without trying to sacrifice anything more!

I’m having this problem even if it say “Gale, can absorb this item’s magic, destroying it”
I donated every magic item I had, it wouldn’t move on from the donate screen.

You have to pick a single item and then hit the donate button, then close the donate window. For some reason it doesn't automatically close the donate window.

Closing the donate window after donating like 7 magic items causes him to get mad and say that I'm not taking it seriously.

EDIT:
Closing by pressing escape fixes it, but clicking the close 'x' in the donate screen doesn't.

Me 2. No consume in his inventory and the donate dialog never moves on whether I give him on or 15 items.

Actually, I have a problem in my multi-player game after the recent update, don't know if it affected my solo game on PS5, but I'm grouped with Gale. He just started to get his arcane hunger and I have the staff of water creation from the druid Grove vendor. Problem is when I speak to give it to him, it doesn't appear in my inventory to give to him at all, he says I have an artifact for him, but soon as I try to provide it to him it suddenly doesn't exist.

Gale has explained his condition to me. After about 30 minutes gameplay, noticed him doubled over suffering, but no dialogue from Gale available with respect to the condition if I talk to him. Have stored up some items labelled with "Gale can consume" or whatever the note is. As there is no dialogue, so no donate box, I put an item in his inventory and right clicked it - no "Consume" there either - stumped. Have saved, exited, reloaded etc.
