No sound

I can't hear anything, even with my computer sound turned all the way up. I checked the sound and accessibility options and there doesn't look like anythings wrong. Any ideas why?

Having the same issue. Sound works fine on everything else except the game itself. I even have sound during the Larian Studios splash screen right before the game loads. Once the game is up, no sound. I can Alt+Tab out and there is still sound on everything else. I bought the game during early release and played for a bit, put put it down in favor of waiting for final release. Since then, i have bought a new computer (Alienware R13) and did not install BG3 until yesterday. I get the error message about mismatched files and have no idea why since it's a brand new computer and fresh install. The only reason i can think of for that error is the cloud sync. Here is what I have tried so far, with no fix:

1. Updated graphics drivers
2. Updated Windows (11)
3. Disabled cloud sync
4. Verified game files
5. Checked game audio settings
6. Closed apps running in the background
7. Rebooted PC

The only thing I haven't tried is uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game. Seems unnecessary since I verified game files twice.

I'm having the same problem, but the line out audio works fine, so I'm settling for headphones for the time being

Same issue here
Using optical - and then tried my headphones which are arctis 7 - USB/Wireless...Nada. Only Larian Splash screen then silence or buzzing...VERY annoying

I may have found the reason for the lack of sound in the game. In the game folder, find the Data folder. There should be a Patch0_Hotfix1 file inside this folder. If there are other Patches besides this file, try deleting them and starting the game. In my case, this solved the problem and I hope it will help you too

Weirdly enough, switching from fullscreen to borderless window seems to have fixed my issue

me neither i've tryed all of this but i have the same issue, its working on vulcan but it crashes after 10 minuts

That's strange...so with directX you have no sound at all past the larian logo...but with vulkan you do have sound?

Mine doesn't work with either

seems like the game is totally broken for me, on direct it's tell me each time that there is missing data and needs to validate

Uninstalling, deleting all BG3 and Larian Studios folders, then reinstalling did the trick for me. Played just fine for several days, now my computer has suddenly started running slow for no apparent reason. I suspect this isn't relaed to the game itself, but because of my computer's performance issues, the game is unplayable. And it's a brand new (April) Alienware R13 with an i9 and a 3060 GPU. Game ran fine until today. FML...

Same Issue here, ingame i hear the Music and the Voices very quiet, so that i could barely hear what they say (all Soundbars in the Menu are on 100%), Soundeffects are missing completely.
When i start the Launcher it says there is a Conflict in the Data, could be old Mods (never used Mods) and corrupt or missing Files. Checked installed Data twice, nothing Found...

in a Post above someone wrote about a "Patch0Hotfix" File, there is no such File in my Data but Patch3, 4 and multiple 5 File´s are there. Itried with and without these Files... nothing! Problem still there :C
*SO BETTER DO NOT DELETE THE PATCHFILES*
cut+paste them into a extrafolder on your desktop - so you can restore them if it does not work for you!
