Unarmored Defense on Monk

Took Monk at second level but not getting the unarmored defense bonus (took everything off just to test). Possible bug? Anyone else multi-classing into monk rather than starting notice this?

Unarmored defense doesn't seem to work with barbarians either

Strange they didn't notice this after 6 years? Or maybe it broke in the release build?

Noticed this myself just now. Also noticed bracers that should have added an additional +2 AC for the monk has not been calculated

After messing around it seems like helmets count as armor. So if it's not like a "clothing" head gear, it'll count.

This is also a thing for those of us that started as monk. It just takes your Wis Mod and nothing else it seems. Currently, I should be sitting at an AC of 17 without any buffs or magic items. However, I'm stuck at 13. Hopefully this gets fixed soon ^_^;

Checked it. The answer is as easy as it is disappointing and - frankly - ♥♥♥♥♥♥. To get the bonus for unarmored defense you can wear NOTHING beyond clothes. No helmet, no special gloves (besides bracers of defense), no special boots (even though none of them gives any armor class). Nothing. Unarmored defense in BG3 sucks.

Must be a bug, because it does work for barbarian. My tiefling barb (forgot the name) runs around naked only with her gloves, boots etc equipped and the armor bonus is working.

Removing my helmet worked. I was able to keep using the Spiderstep boots, so it's possible some boots will count as armor, while others do not.
