The game immediately was like this for me. When you wake up in the pod, my character was standing and half his body was sticking out of it
The solution that worked for me was to re-install the game on my SSD (I initially had it on my larger secondary HDD due to the ludicrous 100 Gig size). I didn't know this when I first installed it, but BG3 is not intended to be played on HDD's due to assets streaming in real time.
There is a 'slow HDD mode' option in the video settings that might help for those without SSD's, though that puts more strain on the vram. It did not fix this problem for me, though.
