Launching this game killed my keyboard
I have a Razer Blackwidow pro v4 keyboard and after launching this game it stopped working. Hard reset on the keyboard did not work, only fix has been to use an older keyboard I had on hand. Is this an issue for anyone else?

The game cannot have killed your keyboard friend-o. Restart your computer, and try removing it from Device Manager and then plugging it back in. If it still won't work, the problem is with the keyboard- you need to contact the manufacturer for help.

Yes, this happened to me and I've been trying to find a fix. Razer Blackwidow pro v4 as well and it's been broken since launching Balder's Gate 3. First happened when I was watching a character background thing. Keyboard went white and started strobing. I've reverted driver, reinstalled synapse, redownloaded drivers, restarted multiple times, diff usb ports, keyboard commands that supposedly reset it to default. Nothing works.

Just happened to me Razer Blackwidow Pro V4 also. It didn't break on luanch but it did break while playing. Same as above "Keyboard went white and started strobing. I've reverted driver, reinstalled synapse, redownloaded drivers, restarted multiple times, diff usb ports."

Well the exact same thing happened to 3 people in a span of 2 days, and that's only the people who have found this one small no traction post

Have you tried disabling Razer Connect? It's caused me no end of issues over the years. also, try resetting your Razer software installation [Apps - Synapse - Uninstall/Modify] Selecting modify will repair any software problems. This solution has helped me with multiple issues over time, where Razer auto-updates and borks itself.

I'm using an older Razer keyboard while my warranty claim files. It seems to specific to theBlackwidow Pro V4

Ok. Glad you got to the bottom of the problem. Good luck with the replacement. :dwarfbeer:

I mean I am not at the bottom of the problem there is still the issues of BG3 frying the keyboards

I'm here to comment that I've had the same issue. My blackwidow v4 pro has become unresponsive after launching this game.

Hopefully your replacement will be ok. I'm using the Blackwidow Chroma from many years ago and no issues. Probably a manufacturing quality thing. I have mainly bought Razer for my PC's and have noticed a decline in the quality of Razer products over the last 5 or more years.

You are using a Blackwidow Chroma, this post is about Blackwidow V4 Pros, the V4 Pro released in Feb of this year so it is definitely not the keyboard you are using as you stated you have been using yours for years. They are different keyboards, like I said this seems to be specific to the Blackwidow V4 Pro and Baldur's Gate. I play hundreds of games and only Baldur's Gate has done this.

Indeed, I realize mine's much older. Hence my suspicion that it's a quality thing, because newer Razer products feel lesser in quality these days. Anyway, good luck solving your issue.

Larian responded to my report with "I hope your keyboard is still under warranty."

What an insanely unprofessional way to respond
