paladin throwing a javelin killed myself?

I threw a javelin at one of the first imps you come across (right after meeting Lae'zel) and it did 12 damage to the Imp but also myself, downing me.

I had this issue on the beech with the Intellect devourer's

I've hurt myself in my own confusion several times. Joking aside, I've found the reflected damage random. I think it occurs when a thrown weapon crits. I've hurt myself and even one shot myself with a trident. it makes throwing weapons very risky.

Same issue in the Harpy's fight. I threw a battleaxe and it did a whopping 23 damage to me and 6 to the harpy. I've not seen this bug until patch 9.

current solution is to drop the item before throwing it.
