Why do Drow not have Sunlight Sensitivity ?
Hello all,

according to PHB:

Sunlight Sensitivity
You have Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Wisdom (Perception) Checks that rely on sight when you, the target of the attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

Why do Drow not come with this Racial Feature in BG3 ? Is this intended or will it be added later on ?

Sincerely.

Probably for the same reason our vampire friend can play Daywalker again.

They're doing away with penalties on PCs these days.

By canon and FR world-building it makes sense, but I guess it mucks around with fun too much.

In the PnP game, the drow characters have to stick to shadows in the topside world. BG3 could implement this easily, it's not an engine problem.

Drows have a lot of advantages over other Races and if the only drawback is removed, they are superior to everyone else, except perhaps the Deep Gnome and Halflings Luck.

Wouldnt it make more sense to remove an advantage, like Drow Magic, alongside that drawback ?

We're pretty safe so far, out in the way wilderness, using being Drow to auto-succeed Intimidation and Persuasion checks.

I imagine the script will flip significantly when we get to Baldur's Gate, and Drow will require much more delicacy to play. Similar to Undead in DOS2 or Nosferatu in Vampire the Masquerade.

It does surprise me that the armor doesn't degrade though.
