Dank Crypt Bug - Richly Adorned Sarcophagus - Guardian of Tombs not appearing

Opened the sarcophagus and looted but the guardian never appeared. Tried a reload from save and nothing. Is this a known bug? He's in my camp but wont resurrect anything because we haven't met him yet in the tomb...

I actually had to start the game over cause this never corrected itself. LOL

So I elected to attack him, closed the cutscene, since he didn't engage combat immediately I decided to go ahead and take a long rest, since I had just killed his buddies. Took the long rest, he was vanished. Looted the sarcophagus but he didn't reappear. How do I finish the quest "Explore the ruins"? He is gone. Do I really have to start over new? That is decidedly inconvenient.

I have the same issue. He never appeared when I looted the sarcophagus. He does appear in my camp, however. During one of my saves, he even appeared in my camp ("dungeon camp") before I had even found the sarcophagus.

I had this happen on one of my play throughs. It happens to me if I read the book of the dead in the side room before opening his sarcophagus.
He did still turn up in my main camp later though.

So first of all you make so many huge jumps in your story that it is hard to actually figure out wht you mean.

So what I am guessing happened.
You opened the secret door, all the undead came to life, you killed them. Then the cutscene happened you choose to attack him and nothing happened. Then you decided to go and take a long rest and he disappeared.
First of all if you have a save before entering his tomb(aka opening the door) you should be good from there. Kill the undead that revive. Then enter the tomb and he should also raise from the tomb. Talk to him. He will tell you that he will join your camp. Continue exploring the tomb. Until you long rest(i think, he will be wandering around in the area near his tomb in the crypt). Once you rest he should disappear from there and be available in your camp.
Explore the ruins and him are i think not that knitly tied together.
