How to save Smythin without fighting

1. Grab a character who has the Find Familiar spell and a strong character.
2. Cast Find Familiar with Spider.
3. Bring the Spider up to Smythin - all the goblins should run.
4. Get rid of the Spider.
5. Wait for the Goblins to clear out of sighted area (stealth/hide).
6 Throw Smythin a few feet.
7. Cutscene should trigger.

You can also save simply by throwing an invisibility potion at him.

I charmed goblins to go to sleep, it didn't start a fight, they were neutral after they wake up. Smythin thanked me and run.

Do you mean you used the Sleep spell on them? I've tried that a couple times with Gale, but they wake up almost immediately and become hostile.

I talked to the goblin, but can't stop his action. So I simply shoved Smythin down.
Interestingly he only -2 HP and survived, instead of -4 and died by the goblin.
He will open the gate and try to escape, but the two goblins originally threatened him will also arrive at the gate.
He will stay frightened forever under the gate. No dialogue, no inspiration.
The two goblins will ignore him as if he does not exist.

I think I done something the developer haven't thought of.

Basically, long as the Goblins don't die in Line-of-Sight of the other room, you are fine. What I did was approach from the Left side, aggro them with ranged attacks (Magic Missile is great) before they could push the poor fella to his death. Then have someone run to close the Door on the Left before anyone comes in. Wait for the Goblins to move away from the hole in the wall, so just pass on your Turn if need be. With the Door closed and nobody seeing them, you can kill them safely, and old Smythin is saved.
