How to get the Bard to join the party

How do I get the bard at the druid grove to join my party? Anyone? I helped her get her song completed and then nothing?

volo is a running joke in the series. He takes credit for things other people do and tells flat out lies in his books, to be 'famous'. There is a hint of that in here-- there is a scroll with a note (from E who is likely elminister) that says his latest book is full of BS (nicely, of course).

I would not expect him to join. But deekin, we can hope, will show eventually. Doom doom doom!

So he's basically a normal bard.

the difference is he has never actually been on an adventure intentionally. Being shipwrecked in chult did not count :P
I suppose he could be a level 1 bard loaded up with a lot of 'the better part of valor'.

You can't. Some assumed you can get her to join later, but while there is a bard companion in the full game, it's not her (see the datamining threads on larian forums if you want to spoil further companions)
