where does the in-game mod manager store its mods? / help installing mods from nexus
hi, im trying to import some mods i downloaded from nexus mods that **arent** available in the in-game mod downloader (tav's hairpack, horns of faerun etcetera), but i cant find the location that the game stores its mods and therefore cant install the imported mods.

i thought it'd be in the mods folder generated by the old bg3 mod manager but no dice. can anyone help with this? thanks, and sorry if this is something thats already been answered a billion times.

EDIT: figured out the issue!

the game's files and the folder made by the old mod manager are in:

steamlibrary/steamapps/common/baldurs gate 3

for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason, the in game mod manager stores its files in:

appdata/local/larian studios/ baldurs gate 3

which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid but whatever. hope this helps someone someday

Well, it kinda is exactly what appdata is meant for...to decouple files from the base directory and not modify the base files of installed apps directly.
Sure it's somewhat unusual for games to make use of this feature, but it is actually pretty much the opposite of stupid. It does exactly what vortex, mod organizer etc do, just with windows internal tools. Decoupling mods and installations.
But kudos to you figuring it out on your own.
