Baldur's Gate 3 Offline Co-op HELP

I am going to visit my brother who currently doesn't have internet. We would like to play BG3 via LAN, but I want to make sure that I have all my bases covered before I get there.

For the LAN connection, you just connect the PC's and turn on the LAN settings in BG3, correct?

My other question is updates. I do not think he has the latest update. Will different versions work together?
If not, can he update from my game files?
Can I download updates onto a thumb drive and do it that way?

Sorry if there is a post about this already, I have not been able to find anything online. If there is, please point me in the right direction.

IF you have the correct cables/routers, yes - basically connecting the PCs either via cable or wireless.

Just copy your game files on a USB stick and give it to him where he copy the files over on his disk. Either overriding their existing files (make a backup) or place it somewhere else. You start the game using the executable, like you would when doing a rollback/freeze your game version.
