Are Legendary Actions in Custom Mode after HM fail? Yes!

Larian says the Answer is No, LA is not available in Custom. But I just tested it with a failed Honor Mode save and the Legendary Actions are there. It's called "Dishonor Mode." It is a single save as before, but you can adjust the other settings. So in many ways if you already beat Honor Mode the "Dishonor Mode" is better. Larian seems confused about this and it may be a bug. sshhh!

Hello: I would like to play with Legendary Actions but in Custom Mode not Honor Mode. There are lots of conflicting posts on whether that is possible, seemingly based on rumor, and it would require a lot of time to deliverately test.
Some think that LA are available in. Custom if the file started as Honor Mode. Others say they are never available outside Honor Mode (which would be very annoying if true.).
Does anyone know this answer for sure by actually playing against LA in Custom
Mode? Or is it documented?

PS .. 3/5/24 - . I confirmed with Bg3 tech support by email that LA are never available in custom mode. Sigh! But they passed the request for it to the Devs.

i think it depend the difficulty u choose in custom mode.If you put the difficulty to honour it should work.Otherwise if you fail an honour run ,you automatically get asked wether you want to continue on custom mode.

There is no “Honor” option in custom mode last I looked. Today. I confirmed with Bg3 tech support that LA are never available in custom mode. But they passed the request for it to the Devs.

I mean, I clearly recall youtubers getting a wipe and the boss keeping their legendary action when they continued their run

There are also mods that claim to activate legendary actions.

(Never gave those mods much thought. One HM was enough for me. Got the gold die. Never looking back. I'm not very gud at BG3. I had a rough time of it.)

BG3 Support told me twice, specifically that does not happen. LA are gone if HM ends due to TPK. If it does happen they said its a bug and they asked me to let them know if I see it.
So maybe there is a bug (sometimes) or Maybe there is confusion about what the honor mode LA are?

I believe my eyes (coupled with plenty of statements). You have also asked about the custom mode at the start of the game and after a wipe, which might have created confusion. You don't get LA if you start custom but you do keep them in the dishonour mode. Custom dishonour mode =/= Custom mode. I've seen it in more than one place.

Once I get a wipe in my Honour campaign, I can also talk about it from experience.

Indeed Steffan you are correct. I tested it on a failed Honor Mode save.
