Avenge The Ironhands + Save The Gondians
Those two quests seem to contradict each other, which confuses me.

I agreed to cooperate with Gortash and got the Runepowder Bomb from Wulbren. I sneaked into Steel Watch Foundry and talked to the blind guy in the back. Now I'm supposed to go to the underground lab and look for information about the Gondian prisoners' wherebouts.

This is virtually impossible without aggroing the whole area because as soon as you enter the lab (stairs or elevator, doesn't matter), a Steel Watcher immediately spots you - even if you're controlling a single character with high DEX and +15 stealth. You can use Misty Step to teleport to the walkway above, but that doesn't always work.

What am I expected to do? I thought the idea was that I'm supposed to rescue prisoners elsewhere to make it easier to save Gondians in the Foundry. If I get attacked without fail while looking for information, that makes the whole endeavor pointless.

Sure, I can always read a walkthrough and learn that the hostages are held in Iron Throne... but that area is only accesible through a HIDDEN HATCH.

When entering that area, if you wish to do it sneakily, drink an invisibility potion and enter with only one character.

There are I think two readable things near the entrances that give you the next clue in the quest.

But you don't have to save the Gondians if you don't want. If you want to just plant the runepower bomb, you gotta fight your way through that room and enter the room where you can plant the runepowder bomb.

Personally more inclined to be aligned with the ironhand gnomes, you have a much greater connection with them from your first meet with one in the Blighted Village, later the Underdark, Grymforge and onwards.

What happens if I blow up the foundry without saving the hostages in Iron Throne? Also, will Gortash know it was me and get mad?

You will wipe out all but one gondian, and getting to decide his fate. I recommend finishing him off for the best result.

The hostages in the Iron Throne die.

Not sure about Gortash.

But mind you, Wyll's companion quest requires visiting the Iron Throne, unless it's different when siding with Gortash.

I see. I never used him. I've been using Gale, Shadowheart and Astarion since the beginning and only switched once when it was required for another companion.

Some of the quests in this game feel weird. For instance, I just did the whole Wyrmway and not because of a quest, but I found it by accident while exploring. The boss there is somewhat important to the plot, so I'm wondering if there's a quest associated with that location.

Ansur?

If so, yeah that's the final part of Wyll's companion quest.

Not really as relevant to the plot as one would think.

Yeah. Now I remember that he started talking about dragons all of a sudden at the end of Act 2 when the huge exposition dump happens.
