Can I make ORIN first? Or will I loose content? (SPOILER!) ⚡️
Hello,

I just arrived in Baldurs Gate, in Act3. I want to make the Orin quest first!
(I HATE spaceshifter ... I want to be done with this kind of monster as quick as possible. AND I don't want to have to many victims cause of her (children and so) AND I don't want to have her in all my scenes with other NPC's )

But: I'm a little bit frightend that I destroy a lot of Side-Quest or nice situation or "whatever" if I go straight for her (quest) ... (I already made some "little stuff" like the trap-toy-box in the stable, Courier house with scratcher)

After the Orin Quest I wanted to make all the sidequest and companion quest and Gortasch AFTER all this, at last.

Is this even possible? If yes, will I miss to mutch? 🤓

:spacehamster: THANKS!!! :spacehamster:

OHHHHHHHHH YOU HELPED ME SOOOO MUTCH!! (I have to *hug* you a bit, sorry :heartfull: )

But: Must I see / do the coronation of Goratsch? Or can I reserve this also "for later"? When I walk to "DownTown" I come pass sutch a "Guardian" and Gorbatsch invites me to his coronation.
I want to make Minc, than Orin and THAN I start making every single House and quest and "talking" from the beginnig (Wyrm-Entrance) ...

You can join the coronation and Gortash will talk about making a deal (help him kill Orin first). You can take it or just "let me think about it". Either way, just check journal regularly so you won't miss a quest in case the game locks you out on one :D
During my 2nd try I took his deal, passed his Persuasion/Insight checks then met him at the morphic pool. So feel free to play the game however you want!

You can do them in any order. You are not forced to face Gortash at his coronation. You can simply watch it and decline him. Unless you attack, there won't be a fight. You also don't need to side with either of them. You are free to antagonize both right of the bat. In fact It is much easier to deal with him after you disabled the steel watch. I normally save Gortash for last, since the Steelwatch quest line is rather dragged out

I'm in the underground but if I want to save Yenna I have to kill him first .... say Orin. :speechless: So ... will she be alive if I don't kill him first?

Orin's prisoner will be fine, even if you pick the dialogue option to decline Orin. I never side with either of them (Orin or Gortash), but always tell both that I will be coming for them. You will have to save the hostage from an altar in the Bhaal temple and kill Orin. It also didn't seem to be time sensitive, but make a save, just in case. To free your prisoner: Find and kill Sarevok, then find and kill Orin. Also, fighting Orin will be unnecessarily hard, if you agree on a one-on-one duel in the dialogue where she tells you about the prisoner

Anytime. You will have to discover the exact workings about the rescue , aka finding Orin, for yourself. Don't want to spoil too much.
But its a long road, involving solving the murder quest for the most part first. Following it will lead you where you need to go

Is there a way to save Yenna's cat? :CatMorta:

I can't say. In my playthroughs, funnily enough, although Yenna never got kidnapped for me (it was always some other companion), I am left with ONLY the cat and Yenna apparently dies somewhere off screen.
I have heard rumours about a sequence where the kidnapped companion's double is trying to kill Yenna in camp, but in all my playthorughs I have never seen it, so I guess it just skipped it for me and insta kills her.

Hmmm can I make somehow "Killing Orin" BEFORE I meet Yenna? Than I meet Yenna after and she and the cat are in no dnager ...

It depends on your active party. There is a special set of characters that can be taken hostage by Orin. If they are all in your active party, she will take Yenna instead.
There is no avoiding Yenna, as she auto-talks to you, when you enter Rivignton (so way before you even enter the city).
Only way is to alter your party, before you get to the point of abduction.

Gale
Halsin
Minthara
Lae'zel

If you have all the above in your party (or you don't have them at all) when the abduction happens, it will be Yenna instead. Otherwise it will be one of those companions.
I do, however, not know at what point exactly the game determines who gets kidnapped, making it hard to pinpoint the moment to change your party. For me, it's mostly Laezel or Halsin, cause I don't take them along in my active party
Then again, there supposedly should be a cut scene at camp in my case, where you can save Yenna from the Doppelganger (the one companion that was kidnapped instead of her), threatening to kill her, but it never ever triggered for me in 4 or 5 playthroughs so far. She just ends up missing from the camp, and only the cat remains, even after I rescue the hostage. She just ends up being killed offscreen.
I am still trying to find a happy ending to this.

@Kaeptn Bleibaer

Oh this is sad .... and very informativ. But I will give it a try next time, with Halsin.

Thanks a lot!

Sometimes there IS a easy solution. For example the two brothers at the beginning of the swamp (with the hag). It is just: Take the right answers and they ARE alive. We just have to find it.

By having a story companion at the camp during Act 3 and giving food or gold to Yenna when you meet her. The decision moment (as far as I know*) is meeting Orin in the Sewers. If it's a companion, the cat is safe.

*In that playthrough I completely skipped Yenna by jumping past and had all story companions in the active party, Orin pretended to be Yenna. So, I reloaded, sent a companion to the camp, and went to meet Yenna 10 meters before Orin's trigger.

Edit. Only Lae'zel, Gale, and Halsin/Minthara work.
