I need advice on saving Oskar the painter

I am at his house, and everything seems possessed, I find him and the his wife in the bedroom but he's possessed.

His wife asks me to "subdue him" but I have no idea how? I have taken his health down to 1 and nothing happens, I don;t have any sleep spells or subdue spells and I don't even know of any non-lethal ways of taking someone down??

I have killed him like 10 times and have to keep reloading because his wife throws me out

I'm level 11 and using Me "Paladin", Gale, Shadowheart, and Karlach.

There is a passive tab on the hotbar, go there and toggle non lethal damage to knock him out

OH man, how did I miss this after 140 hours!

thanks man, never needed to knock anybody out before....
