Lockpicking and Disarming Traps in Turn Based Mode
We are playing a 2 player run through and we can't seem to pick locks or disarm traps when in turn based mode. Is this possible or do you have to be out of turn based mode?

I'm not sure if we're doing something wrong or are just unaware of the actual mechanics of the game but whenever we attempt to disarm traps or pick locks while in combat or when we turn on turn based mode we always seem to get the "not enough resources" alert. This happens even on the start of a characters turn.

Is this something you can't do? Is this something that's bugged?
Any info would be appreciated.

Interacting with a trap or lock uses up an "action". So does Hiding for non rogues. Often time people are hiding before interacting with these objects, causing them to be unable to.

But no, you can interact with objects all you want. It just takes an action.

I just 4 hours ago opened 7 locked footlockers in turn based mode, just to make sure that this patrolling guard wasn't going to watch me do it.

Ok, damn. This is confusing then.

Have you been able to disarm a trap or pick a lock in turn based mode while NOT being hidden? I wonder if the game is attempting to force a hide action as part of command to pick a lock/disarm a trap instead of allowing a disarm/pick action without needing to be hidden.

A few times I've had both action and bonus action available (at the start of a turn while not hiding, both in and out of combat), then tried to use a lockpick from my hotbar to attempt to pick a locked door or disarm a trap and it comes up as "not enough resources" and I no longer have the action left. It's super frustrating.

Yes, being hidden is not a requirement, I do it standing up all the time.

You do not need to use a lockpick from your hotbar. In fact, you don't need to even have one on your active character. SOMEONE in the party needs to have one, and the character using it will simply TAKE one from someone else, when needed.

You simply need to rightclick the object, and select "Lockpick" or "Disarm"

"Disarm" becomes the DEFAULT action if you have noticed that there is a trap, but sometimes I don't trust the game, so I usually rightclick > Disarm or Lockpick

Ok, thanks mate. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

We'll try the right click option next time we get into this situation. I'm not sure we have tried that.

With 2 players controlling 2 characters each things have occasionally gotten a bit glitchy. For example magic pockets has only worked one way and the other player can't access my inventory but I can access hers.

I hope this isn't another bug. We don't want to have to start over.

Magic pockets has sometimes been stingy with the shovel. But I don't think I've ever had an issue with it with lockpicks and such.

Good luck
