WAKE UP ART CULLAGH Quest bugged and a possible solution (SPOILERS!)

So, I found Art Callagh asleep in Last Light Inn, and after reading from various wikis, I realized that the quest is bugged if "talking" to him only triggered a cut scene with him singing the ditty about Thaniel. Zero sign or mention of Fist J'ehlar who is supposed to give you the background, letter and quest.

I thought, maybe if I go and clear out House of Healing the quest will resolve once I get the Lute from Malus Thorm's corpse to play for Art and he wakes up.

No luck. Zero response from Art. And, damn, that was a tough fight. Back to the series of tubes.

Finally I found mention of the specific NPC to talk to... and they weren't in the room with Art.

So I searched all over Last Light Inn (and was starting to worry they had been killed in a previous fight)... and finally found them in the lower level just near the entrance to the Basement. Just standing there.

I then I remembered all the nonsense of the NPCs running around like they've never seen Bear Familiar before... and I realized the NPC must have chased me around and dropped off as I rounded the corner in the basement, and then they just stood there, unable to return to the room where Art is in his coma.

So I brought the Bear along for another jog around the lower level of Last Light, got the NPC to follow me back up to around the entrance to Last Light. I dismiss the Familiar, and the NPC wandered back to the room with Art. I then spoke to them in the room, and quest triggered as normal.

So, now I'm off to redo the fight, but at least it will complete the quest this time.

The same NPC is stuck downstairs for me and I haven't played in a while because I can't progress past this point. I'm going to give this a shot - thank you for posting!
