Where are my Soul Coins?

I've been collecting Soul Coins. In Act 1 I was putting them in a storage chest I took to my camp. I had multiple containers so it was all very organized. Then I went to the Underdark. No problem, all my containers got put in my traveler's chest and moved to the next campsite. This worked fine for a while but when I got to Last Light, I noticed some of my containers were missing. I left the inn and went to my campsite from the battleground... It's a different campsite. Some of my storage is there, some of it is at the inn campsite. But something is missing. The chest that had my Soul Coins and some other items is nowhere to be found. I have a feeling it's at a campsite accessed from a specific place, but I can't find it anywhere. Now I'm going to all the waypoints, going to camp from there, looking for this chest. Is it gone forever? My whole stash of Soul Coins?

When campsites get "rearranged" all the "moved" items go to the big travel chest. Open it, sort it and check all the containers at the top (they are always at the top when sorted by type).

I went back through my saves. In one save I had 4 Soul Coins. In the next save, 0. I checked all the vendors to see if maybe I sold them, as they appeared to lack any use for my party at the time. Unfortunately the save where they were gone was when I had just cleared the Nere questline and accessed the forge. The merchant there left. Maybe if he reappears in Baldur's Gate I'll find him there, with 4 coins for sale. Or not. I can't be sure I sold them. I still have every quest related book and document I ever found. It's not like me to sell something like that.

The fact that your randomly placed chests/containers are only at a single camp location is a bit unfortunate and fiddly.

Hey did you find your soul coins? I've got same problem and highly doubt that I sold them by accident. I wanted to use one for the first time, but they are all gone :(
