Putting the ceremonial weapons in the altars in Rosymorn Monastery

I've collected all the ceremonial weapons and I can't put them on the altars. I've tried jumping on the altar and dropping, the weapon bounces off onto the floor. I've tried throwing them & moving them, but it just bounces off and clouts me for 5 HP. I am getting fed up with it and would be very grateful for any ideas.

from what i remember if you put the weapon on the wrong altar it gets knocked off, but if you put it on the correct altar it would start to glow like the one thats already there.

theres clues that tells you which altar they go on, but, just put them on random altars until they all start glowing and dont get rejected.

i just drag it from my inventory, and place it on the altar. if its red that means it didnt find a path, just keep moving the mouse and dragging it on the altar until its clear itll work, then if it doesnt start glowing move it to another altar.

Thanks, I must be getting my directions mixed up. I blame satnavs. I will try it later.

Thank you it worked. I was moving the target for throwing too near the front of the altar which is why everything was ending up on the floor 🤗
