What determines the selling price?
As the title suggests, I'm trying to find out what dictates the sell price of an item at a vendor. For example - I pickup some type of gemstone. In my inventory it says it's worth 100 gold, but when I go to a vendor, the price drops to 45,50 ect gold.

Just wondering how that all gets decided (i.e. if I have a high CHA, will I get better prices)?

Thanks in advance.

Charisma is the major factor although you'll likely be able to use Cha mixed with persuasion/intimidation/deception proficiency to get a better barters.

I don't the exact math but the selling price is determined by charisma and I believe the vendors attitude towards you.

How would 1 improve attitude?

It's been awhile but I remember someone saying that if you undersold items to vendor they will slowly improve attitude. I haven't tried it in over a year though. Maybe someone else could confirm.

EDIT: You can see it a bit in action in this video here @13:58. He sells an item for a bit less than it is worth and the vendor gets a slightly bump to there attitude. I imagine you would only want to do this with a vendor that you use very often.

Thanks for this! Wonder if that will remain the same on release day

Unfortunately the underselling of an item (or more likely giving some items away) will improve your rep with the trader.........but..............the speed at which he improves relations has been nerfed from the earlier game, so now the rep takes a lot to improve.

Only really worth using on traders you expect to deal with a lot.

Try leaving a :rep2: on the vendor's profile.
