Level Three and Nothing to Do (successfully)

I don't want a walkthrough, but I am kinda lost at what the game expects you to do. The story development is sucking for me, partly because I chose a Drow.

Your supposed goal is to find someone to yank the tadpoles. You can gather you're eventually headed to the City. Nothing makes sense in the story toward achieving any of those, they just layer on a bunch of distractions and complications.

Chapel - all clear except for the room with too many traps - and seems unrelated to goal

Druid Camp - sure, go steal an Idol or free a Goblin while everyone's eyes are locked on it

Blighted Village - er, nobody of consequence - and as Drow I get free passage so why be a murder hobo for XP?

Can't cross broken bridge north of Blighted Village, and see no other path north to find Karlach.

Goblin Camp - just seems to be another murder hobo obstacle to get to Shattered Sanctum.

Shattered Sanctum - pick a boss, any boss, be ready for all three at once.

No actual sighting of the bear druid I am supposed to be finding so far.

And the number of traps to other paths are insane, considering Disarm Trap is so expensive and likely to fail at this stage.

So it's either an endless Die Roll Save Scum or a Murder Hobo XP against my subservient goblins to get anywhere. And none of this seems even remotely connected to figuring out how to get someone to talk to me about this tadpole thing.

well lower the diffuculty setting , im doing it on the hardest and its easy then again i have hundreds of hours on larian games

There are some hidden areas and sidequest you probably missed, your team is likely not good enough to go to the other area, and there's a lot of sidequest EXP.

I haven't finished the blighted village and I still got to level 4 without killing the goblins.

You can cross the river to get to Karlach without using the bridge. There is a spot you can jump across rocks to cross the river.

That being said, you have missed some quests and areas as was pointed out. The blighted village has multiple hidden areas you can explore with enemies in the 4-5 range and good loot. Look for walls you can break with blunt weapons, hidden passages, cellars, wells, etc. The druid grove has some minor quests if you don't think you are ready for the blighted village enemies.

It seems like you may have unrealistic expectations on quest resolution if you think you can go save Halsin from the goblins while still being on their good side. Maybe there's a way, but it seems pretty unlikely to be easy or straightforward to accomplish.

If you do the quests available as you go and explore around the settlement areas moving outwards slowly you can stay slightly over-leveled and have an easy time of things. If you enter an area that feels too hard or enemies are above your level then explore in a different direction and return later.

I'm not going to give you a guide but here's a list of locations to explore. Wakueen's rest, the underdark, grymforge, goblin camp, the sunlit wetlands, blighted village, the whispering depths, the high road toll house, owl bear cave. You need to do some serious exploring because there's a crap ton of areas you haven't been too.

I don't think the game is for you if everything about it annoys you lol. You're complaining about the answer not being immediately infront of you rather than just enjoying the story. Just sit in the grove and walk around if you don't ever want to kill anything..
