Is there a point to equipping no stat white items

As title says ive come across a few odd trinkets/jewlery that display no stats, for example i have a "legendary" or "orange bordered" ring that is literally called " 'Magic' Ring" - "the runes encircling this ring have been etched by rock" is there a point to wearing this, am i missing something?
