It's a bit worse in BG3 because the goblins didn't even target her, whereas they still should be able to, just have to pass a Wis saving throw.
In short, 50% of goblins should still have attacked her.
The TT rules state: 'If the warded creature makes an attack or casts a spell that affects an enemy creature, this spell ends.'
Sequence wording matters; cleric casts spirit guardians first, then gets Sanctuary. The Sanctuary would break the other way round.
When the cleric walks around, they're just walking around under the protection of spirit guardians, they're not casting spells. The onus then switches to the foe who dares be enemy of a god in their cleric's presence.
Me and my friends don't use errata unless we have a problem, so wasn't even aware of that added clause!
It must not damage each time your cleric is running around — only on enemie's start of turn if it's started inside area of spell /or/ enemy stepped inside on his turn.
The errata may not make it into the game, so it is possible this will go live.
But it doesn't really matter with spirit guardians, there are plenty of work arounds already. Bigger issue is the damage double-dipping, it should only damage on enemies' turns.
