Stealing

Hi all! So my halfling rogue has sticky hands... Nevertheless I am unsure how I can steal when everyone is watching! Thiefs are not hiding in the shadows in this game but they are sneaking, they are not turning into bush/barrell/stone as in DOS, being invisible does not help, being behind their back does not work either - everyone catches me immediately, the relationship with them drops and they want to go through my stuff. Any advice?

if everyone has vision on you, it's impossible to sneak; so go invisible with a scroll, spell or potion.
When you're about to steal, enter TURN BASED MODE. This stops the time in a decently sized area around your character, so you can take your time inspecting and stealing while undetected.

Here's a detailed guide from patch 5. The mechanics are the same, except now it's way easier to steal gold and Astarion has expertise on slight of hand (+2 stealing rolls).

use a fog, darkness spell and you never gonna have to worry about it again that or darkness arrows those work as well if you have no casters or scrolls. When it comes to stealing i would say get a bard cleric/ druid the ring for stealing forgot the name of it... if you follow the river you can find it..and you can steal everything
