If I uninstall to download this massive update on steam deck, will I lose my progress?

My steam deck is fighting for its life with this update. It’ll download it, but it is struggling to install it? I read somewhere if I uninstall the game and redownload it with the update it’ll help? Anybody have any advice?? Thanks!!

Games don't store save files in their install directory, so yes, you should be fine to reinstall.

Savegames are stored separately and are unaffected by uninstallation procedures unless explicitely set to delete them as well.

Plus if you use the Steam Cloud you are oin the safe side.
