Doesn't really answer the question. Dragonborn have been around since 2014 in 5e. The Larian DB are really not that different from RAW.
You barely see any Dragonborn in the game at all and I don't think any of them have any tails probably because they are too janky to deal with. I just find it really odd.
As for the racial stats the only good thing is the resistance. The ability is super situational and usually you'll have far better options for action use as the game progresses. Meanwhile the Dwarf race also gets a resistance + saving throws from said damage to resistance, a bunch of other stats and the subclass stats as well. Dragonborn just gets a subclass and base racial movement - it's rather quite lame.
If Larian is going to make certain changes that pure D&D people wouldn't accept - they could've added something to the Dragonborn race. Every race should be at the same level of power and scaling with the differences being what they get. Dragonborn is clearly below that threshold. D&D and 5e or whatever these races are based off of, isn't perfect and what isn't perfect can always be improved no matter what the purists think.
edit: Dragonborn are better in Solasta as I think you get like 3 uses of the breath attack + you are at least faster than dwarves, halflings and gnomes. If the smaller races in BG3 are going to be buffed when it comes to movement - then clearly other changes can be made to equalize the races.
so at the end of the day we are still the coolest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ looking race among all of them haha
hahahaa AKA some Dragonborn players realy wanted a godang tail (me) so the DM said its a rare thing but it can happen ( so the dragonborn player would stop bothering the DM )
My solution would be to make it usable once per turn AND its a bonus action. Damn near every other race gets something that is always usable and useful, so letting dragon born have a mediocre bonus action breath attack is balanced. When you consider many other bonus actions would still perform better then using breath attack it makes more sense.
These traits can buff Dragonborns a little.

Canonically halflings, gnomes and dwarves could move less than other races but in BG3 that has changed. Solasta Crown of the Magister also has Dragonborn with multiple kinds of tails and an option for not having one.
Just because things were different in the past doesn't mean that such things in the past were correct or that things couldn't be improved upon.
That being said, I'm still playing one in my current playthrough because I love how they look.
