More Origins Idea (maybe patch 8?, Maybe modders?)
Hey guys! I absolutely LOVE the origin characters that you wrote. I only just started act III, but I am SOOO excited to see how their stories continue and how the main story ends. I especially love how the characters are so intricately involved in the main story (I know about Shadowheart, Gale, and Laezel)

I have a couple of thoughts. I am not sure how they could be implemented. I will try to avoid spoilers as I can.

I first played Baldur's Gate II, and loved that story. When I learned how it is supposed to end canonically, I was somewhat saddened (as the cannon ending undoes everything the player has worked towards the whole game long). Seeing as that cannot be changed (being somewhat important to BG III's story), I have a thought. I apologize, I am going to spoil some stuff, but only so much as I know (as I have not yet finished the game though)
For those players who played the originals, I think it would be cool to add yet another callback in the form of being able to play the Ward's child as an origin (canonically he is male, and if I am not mistaken all 3 romances that have children were female elves) Perhaps, this origin could pick one of the 3 half elven races (and thus their canonical parent)
Picking the half high elf, would be Jaheras child. Were this the origin, this would mean that Jaheira grieves her own child being a true soul. ( I do not know if the devs could add more recorded lines for Jaheira, but that would be awesome!) Perhaps Jaheira could give the PC a Harper pin in Act II to help protect the PC (provides resistance to force dmg, given that the original's immune to magic missle is not so useful).
Picking High wood elf (Aerie), Would mean that she is worried about you having gone missing after a recent Flayer attack, and asking for help finding you. Perhaps, on the road to the shadow lands, Haer Dalis could find the PC and give them their mother's ring, and planeswalk away to report to Aerie that he has found her child and arrange a meeting in Baldurs Gate (perhaps in the Circus?). Perhaps this ring could allow Magic Missile to work as a reaction spell that can interrupt spell casters who fail concentration checks to all the missiles, another callback to the original). If further lines could be added for Minsc, that would also be cool)
Unfortunately, I do not know enough about Viconia in BG 2 or BG 3 (as I am not yet that far), perhaps others could suggest ideas. My only thought, would be that this could have some interactions with Shadowheart's worship/possible betrayal of Shar. So that each variant gets an item in Act II, I would probably put something in the Gauntlet of Shar.

Perhaps for Act I, once the PC gets a tadpole, they could get a buff that lasts permanently unless they use a tadpole (maybe equivalent to Astarion's Happy buff). Perhaps it could be called "Following in their Footsteps" with a description or dialogue from the narrator that your remember stories from your parents and are proud of your avoiding using evil powers (or shame at doing so, with some accompanying debuff)
In each case, I think this would have interactions with Sarevok, maybe you could make him ashamed and redeem him (I think it would be cool for the "cannon" ending to be that Gorion's Ward did redeem Sarevok, and this origin PC could remind them of that). Maybe he could join the PC for the final battle if redeemed again.
If an NPC for Aerie were added, I liked this fan art, maybe the model could be based on it https://www.deviantart.com/nixxical/art/Aerie-358142538

Jaheira canonically never had a child, so giving a background where she suddenly does makes no sense. All of her children were adopted (initially, she was quite against adopting children as well but couldn't stand how Baldur's Gate ignored them on the streets) and the only person she was willing to have a child with, is dead (her late husband). She also refuses to allow any of her adoptive children to join the Harpers despite them being capable of fighting (her eldest at the Gate threatens to run off and join a mercenary outfit against Jaheira's wishes, insinuating Jaheira is quite against her kids fighting for any one group). So having her kids randomly out and about as adventurers would be odd as she would have been against that as well.

Viconia was too engrossed with serving Shar to likely give birth to any children, especially when her entire mission for a long time was watching over her cloister she had to all of sudden murder and then spent 40 years taking care of Shadowheart.

Anyways, your background ideas do not work to incorporate the original Origins from 1 & 2 nor does it fit the narrative because you aren't supposed to know the original companions have anything to do with the current story at all until you run into Jaheira in Act 2 and the rest in Act 3. They, and anything associated with them, are not the focus of the story and wouldn't do to inject legacies of them as the focus of the story neither.
