drow magic faerie fire

tell me........what does charisma have to do with faerie fire (drow) - because as a 30 plus year vet of d&d, I cannot fathom why dc check modifier for it would be charisma rather than int - nothing like an enemy with 10 dex passing a save against it because of such as cha modifier was plus 1 rather than the 4 it SHOULD have been from int. to be clear, cha modifier was added to dc rather than int. again, tell me why cha makes sense here, it has a better chance of it working because I speak well? I convince you that you want to be affected by it? plain ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb. absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded, and pretty much rendered the spell entirely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless for any race or class that has it with int as primary stat. yet another completely fail mechanic and yet another completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless ability other than cha build that will never actually see a hotbar. in fact after testing this a dozen times against the same enemy under the same conditions, it worked once using the cha modifier and would have worked 9 times had int been used..... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fail.

Because that's the Spellcasting modifier used for a Drow's Faerie Fire since 2014 5e of the game which Larian's game is mostly based on. This didn't change until the 2024 5e rule changes where Elves can pick what Spellcasting Modifier they'd use for their Racial learned spells.
