Feedback on the BG3 Toolkit's release state
Straight to the point: this BG3 Toolkit is horrible for players and must be reviewed.

I heard that this toolkit was used for making a previous game, but it's not a tool for players. It's a programmer/larian developer tool for those who already have experience with the past toolkit for a past game.

I've been waiting a whole year for this big release that would make BG3 last for decades like Skyrim did (and still is), but as a player who has been using game creation tools since 2003, I'm very upset with how the BG3 Toolkit is not player friendly. After all the phenomenal events around BG3 and Larian, it's deeply disappointing that such an important feature made for the community came out this way.

The first impression when I opened the tool was of a developer tool, not a player tool. After reading some of the guides in mod.io, they confirmed my impression even more.

A point that really surprises me is that BG3 - the game itself - takes around 3 to 5 GB of my RAM on low settings, while the toolkit runs between 6 to 7 GB without even loading a map. What is happening?!

If Larian wants to release a toolkit for their games, that tool must be made thinking on: the imense majority of players who don't know how to code - players who never even opened a creation toolkit - if the interface is intuitive - if the words are easy to understand where to go and what to do - if the toolkit is easy to navigate and has a good search feature - hide unnecessary information unless it's needed for a complex modification - let the kit test the mod in a very small simulation without loading tons of data from the game - include a code language manual for creating mods.

I've been using game creation toolkits since I was a kid. If Larian needs good user friendly examples I can point out the RPG Makers (any version), Warcraft 3's Map Editor, Skyrim's Creation Kit and even Fortnite's creative mode. Some of them are more complex than the others, but they all have one thing in common: they thought on how to approach all players with a commonly understandable and resourceful toolkit.

If the BG3 Toolkit (on release) barely works for players with keyboard and mouse, it will be unusable for console players.

I really hope we receive a huge update or a completely new toolkit for preference. The BG3 modding community should not be shortened to programmers or people with previous experience in Larian's game tools.

I await for a proper toolkit to make big projects. See you later.

Ofcourse it is developer tool? Did you expect some kind of game maker utility? That was newer promised! Just a support to Modding aka developer tools. If you want to make mods you should learn some programming and other skills.
There are games with game maker utilities, but this and most other games are not designed to be that!
