Karlach's heart Act 3, spoilers?

I feel like I'm missing some gameplay or clue. All of act 1 & 2 we've been working with dammon to find a way to fix her & all of a sudden act 3 he's "hey great to see you! like my new forge, got a great deal from hell lady next door! Nope, haven't a clue how to fix her heart, have a nice day!" Find a suspiciously heart shaped piece of infernal marble in the basement of the forge, yes I know its used in that ritual, But it's heart shaped. C'mon its gotta mean something right?

After the fight with gortash, in her meltdown, she screams about being sold into hell & how they took her heart, so she never sold her soul, she never gave up her heart, is it laying around somewhere? maybe the house of hope? Also isn't that located in Zariels Domain? Where Karlach fought? I haven't gotten there so I'm "hopeful".

Look, I admit, I'm a noob. Never played D&D, don't know the lore except what I've learned from BG3. never played turn base combat. Mostly a WOW and Sims person. Did you notice anything related to Karlach's heart (or hearts in general, there's a heart shaped stone, no idea where that came from). Just looking for other clues that might have been missed, maybe enough bread crumbs & we'll find something?

Might be a hint towards an upcoming update for a new ending for Karlach, or it might be a red herring which is pretty scummy by the devs seeing on how pissed everyone is that they haven't included a happy ending for Karlach.

Hah I also got my hopes up on this basis... I don't mind it though. Life is ♥♥♥♥, there aren't always happy endings. It's kinda cool that the best girl just can't be saved, deal with it innit

I mean, you both could be absolutely right. It wouldn't be the first time wasted looking for something. But if the answer is already in the game, it wouldn't be in an update. I hate it when I feel like I'm missing something lol. All the stuff in Gortash's room talking about Zariel & Dammon acting weird & tied up with the one next door just has my hackles up. ah, well, thanks for your response!

If she's dead, the epilogue party has a message from Dammon about how he thinks there could've been a way to save her if he could've figured it out. It almost feels like there was supposed to be a way to help Dammon solve the problem, but whatever it was doesn't seem to be available to acquire.

The closest you're going to get to a good ending (it seems) is to convince her to go back to Avernus (with or without a friend/partner) and hope Dammon can figure something out (though the story ends before there's any report of success or failure).

See, that's what I mean! the epilogue just came out a couple weeks ago! I haven't seen it yet but Its like they're waving their arms saying "look people! its there!". Why put that in if our only choices are she goes to hell or dies? Ugh! I wish I was better at figuring clues out! Honestly most of the time I just turn to the internet & get the answer
