Make Gortash's Coronation Less Skippable
Spoilers Ahead.
This is me and a friends first play through and we apparently skipped an entire part of the game. Once you get to Wyrms Crossing you can make your way into Baldurs Gate, but only after Gortash invites you to see his coronation. A normal person might think, maybe I shouldn't waltz into the big bad evil guys lair when he knows who you are. (Spoilers disguise self seems to do next to nothing).

So what might you do? Walk into Baldur's Gate and disable his weird mechanoid army? Probably.

How will the Fist react?
SURPRISINGLY NOT AT ALL... at least IN Baldurs Gate. They don't seem know its you if you've left no surviving enemies.

Whys this a problem?
It sets a weird expectation which is broken later. You can destroy his mechanical army and the Fist are still amicable towards you in the city. Which is weird, as you'd think they'd attempt to arrest you. But they're not... So you might think you're fine and are allowed to waltz back into his coronation. But then you are greeted with every Fist attempting to fight you in Gortash's lair. You can disguise your entire party, but that doesn't work. They still somehow recognize you (Which really should be addressed).

Whats a good solution?
Have the narrator explicitly mention that you'll miss out on Gortash's coronation if you leave the area. THEN have the quest FAIL if you do.

Have the narrator mention that the Fist are watching you. Or even have the Fist be downright hostile and hunt you in the city after you destroy the Steel Watch.

Also if you do decide to skip it, and come back to face Gortash. Have the Fist say something at about it at least, rather than just starting combat as you walk in.

Being able to skip the area is fun but somewhat game-breaking and immersion-breaking when the game seems to fail to account for it. So this choice should be highlighted more by the narrator or some NPC.

Good suggestion. That never occured to me in my playthroughs. Through I just waltzed into the inaugoration and beat everyone there without disabling any Steel Watch first...

I honestly feel like disguise is a very rushed spell compared to much it is used in the table top for situations like this.

Sir bearington is a bear disguised as a human who exist solely because of the disguise spell.

If they put in some extra work then they would let us disguise as major characters and let us do some performance checks in order to turn this whole story around without laying a finger on anyone.

If they were really lazy though then they could just give Gortash and every other major character a see through disguise passive spell, And have a cutscene of them telling us that they have already busted us.
