Djinni planar ally makes a certain encounter kind of silly

There's a certain encounter where combat doesn't trigger until a cutscene, and the Djinni apparently doesn't cause aggro by proximity, or when doing certain things like say launching enemies into chasms in plain view.

As fun and satisfying as it is to watch my Djinni friend systematically eliminate 90% of the combatants before starting the encounter, while the other enemies look on in numb complacency, it doesn't quite feel like the intended use.
