Respec for Oathbreaker (just respec without changing class)
Wanted to do a respec for my Oathbreaker Paladin, just to change some stats around, and found out this is not possible. Apparently to prevent easily "fixing" your broken oath or other exploits.
But I don't even want to do that. I don't want to change class at all, just my ability scores.
When I heard it was so easy to experiment and respec in this game, I thought this would be an option. But now I am not allowed to do so because of some arbitrary limitations just because I was playing how I want to.

Would be great if you could just respec your current class / subclass, specifically for Oathbreaker here. Otherwise the "intended" way right now is to redo the oath (1000 gold), then respec (100 gold), then somehow break my oath again - losing out on time, finding an opportunity to do so, and having to do more long rests... very convoluted, when I never wanted to get out of the broken oath in the first place.

For now there is only trying to find cheats or mods to do something so simple :/

I'm in the same situation, I just want to multiclass into warlock and dump strength but it's literally 1100 gold and taking the oath back WHICH I DONT WANT. Come on Larian, help us dark knights :(

Honestly, I don't know why Larian didn't just add an option to respec at the Oathbreaker Knight himself. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to at least allow the Oathbreaker to allow us to change our stats at minimum. What they could in theory do is once an Oath is broken, your class itself changes and flagged as normal BUT has a separate flag that only allows the Oathbreaker to change your stats. Or, if they wanted to make things REALLY easy without having to write more code, they could've just added an option to rebreak the oath at the Oathbreaker. This I know wouldn't be difficult as there are chat options that break the oaths, so all they'd have to do is have a dialogue option that's "criminal" to all oaths.

If Larian thinks it's cheating to do this, I have to ask them. Would hitting the gym not give me Strength, running a marathon give me Constitution, reading books give me Intelligence, experiencing the world give me Wisdom, and understanding psychology give me Charisma? Like, as an Oathbreak am I not allowed to go the library now?

Same issue, I'm at a +17 charisma because I didn't know about the hag, and I'm way too far into the game to change anything. Honestly just let the oathbreaker knight do the same thing withers does but without letting u leave oathbreaker, or in the very least have the knight let you forsake your oath again. (I'm fine with paying 2k, 1 to claim and 1 to break again, but if they wanted to be nice, u could have dialogue where u get 700 back and ur character says its not worth the gold to reclaim this oath, so flavor wise u break ur oath by taking back money from ur divine)

I really want this as well, I don't want to retake my oath on my paladin, I just want to get his stats right, that is all.
Just make oathbreaker a choice from the beginning to figure what npc I have to murder or do some shenanigans to to respec every couple levels is super annoying

Totally agree on this point. Only wanted to change feat, not even oaths..

Wow. Seems totally fixable, but also kind of niche problem. But also, again, statistics say most players are Paladin, right?

An appropriate ask for a fix.
+1 just came across the same issue, maybe if we all send feedback about it, they´ll make it possible?
