Without being able to place it in the "Ranged" slot, it's effectively useless.
If it have it in my inventory and "Throw" it from there, then it automatically becomes equipped as my primary melee weapon, stopping me from using my actual (better) melee weapon.
What *should* happen, is that thrown weapons are allowed in the Ranged slot. For thrown weapons like the Nyrula which "automatically come back" they should keep in whichever slot the player placed them in.
So, for my situation I'd place it in the "Ranged" slot. And it would be automatically used as the "Ranged" weapon, and keep in the "Ranged" slot thus not messing up my actual (better) melee weapon.
I agree with this 100%.
