But there is SO MUCH about rogueplay that is weak. You can't craft trap disarm kits or lockpicks. They're always single-use. Pickpocketing suspicion is always laser-focused on your party even in crowds.
As it is, it's almost pointless to have a perception check for them. What's the point? When you've already stepped on them.
It's almost comical.
DM: You step on a trap and explode. Roll perception.
Player: O..okay.. *rolls nat 20*
DM: You spot a trap, and admire it in intricate detail in a moment of dramatic slow motion as it explodes your boots in two different directions.
