Why the hell is Eldritch Knight's spell DC Charisma?
Why this change? That's SO RANDOM, and now I probably have to completely restart my solo campaign. .-.

Please for the love of god, Larian, in a future update change it back to intelligence, or at least let us choose if that's one of the things that randomly gets changed.

Edit: Wait, it's NOT Charisma, it is in fact intelligence like it's supposed to be, but at class selection it says it uses Charisma... I'm so freaking confused, what. I think this might be a visual bug? xD

Also trying to figure this out. When I hit the Level Up screen at level 3, I was very shocked (and frustrated) because I had built for INT. My spell Accuracy is crap, so it seems to be CHA as the casting stat, but I can't find clarification one way or the other.

It's definitely intelligence as it should be, it saying charisma appears to be a visual bug. If you're still having issues with accuracy, there might be another issue.

I third this, I thought it could be an interesting change considering the name is Eldritch and famously Warlock deals with the Eldritch more so, while Wizards study it. But yeah probably just visual bug as I have it appear the same. Was hoping the synergy between PotB Lock and EK had increased. Wizard spell list with CHA casting would be dope. Canvassing to get EK the ability to learn spell scrolls in the same way Wizards can for their appropriate spellcasting level.

idk why, but this is really random. I knew that Eldritch Knight is using INT because my DnD character is based this. Only getting 5 lvl give me see that all that time CHA was base stat for this.
Okay, fine, i talked with Withers and I change my class (don't worry, all EXP will be save). Leveling up to 3 and I see what? Yup, CHA is base. BUT when I leave lvl up menu and open it again (maybe from third try) I see that INT is now base stat for spells. wtf?

Well, maybe it'll help someone, because it's really strange. Larian, why we cannot to change Base Stat for this by ourself?

It's still using INT, it's just a visual bug that I hope they fix soon.

And as usual nobody knows what the ED spell casting ability is.
It says NONE for me and I tried the spells on a character with 10 INT 10 WIS and 10 CHA and they would hit a lot with spells, leading me to believe it is either STR or completely bugged.

What we need is an official statement by Larian on what it is SUPPOSED to be in this game.

I'm pretty sure someone went and checked the combat log and saw that it was still using INT, and the fact that they're Wizard spells and say INT in the tool tip makes me think it's using INT. That might just be wishful thinking though, as you said we don't really have any clear confirmation.

Pointless discussion.
This isn't pure DnD 5e, it is a Larian game and we need Larian to make a statement.

Point taken, but I wouldn't say it's pointless. We have to work with what we have for now.

Right but there are 2 crucial things missing in this conversation:
1) A believable source of info for what the ability is ATM, such as a larger number of people confirming it or someone providing proof/demonstration.
2) Larian's comment on what they INTEND the ability to be.

Doesn't meet that criteria, but the test done by the latest comment in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15ldpmq/eldritch_knight_spell_casting/ by bearisland4475 does make it seem like it's INT.

It's the best I've found so far without taking the time to do the tests myself.

Similar to Arcane Trickster, it's a visiual bug in your Spellbook. If you cast your spells and check the roll results, it'll show correct Spell DC calculated there.

Yeah, we realized it was a visual bug basically 2 months ago, people just keep reviving the thread, haha.
