Alt just shows some items but not all. Active Search on the controller is a different thing. You hold A and a circle appears around you and you can quickly look through chests and boxes without walking to them.
agree plz add... i'm doing the same switing back and forth from the 2
If they never bothered to port it over to KB+M for D:OS2, then it feels extremely unlikely that they will do so for Baldur's Gate 3.
Would love for it to be added though.
Is this supposed to be sarcasm? Not every PC gamer has a controller laying around. So, ♥♥♥♥ them I guess?
Are there things you can't spot without the Active Search (even with a high perception character)?
I think the active search is good way to search again if a passive search fails. I think. I could be wrong.
In my case, switching back and forth with my Steam Deck is even more of a non-starter than switching to a controller and back on my PC.
I hooked it up just to try the active search out. It is a handy way to find containers that you didn't notice and overall I like it for rogue sneaking/searching (In fact, moving in exploration mode is much better with the controller, but everything else is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pain).
It takes the system a couple of seconds to realize you've changed inputs. Sadly, that adds up to a waste of time over the course of a play session.
Seems like it should be easy enough to add it for K+M.
It's not even possible for some of us. I have made multiple troubleshooting attempts, and without a physical controller for Windows to interact with, it seems to be impossible (without downloading 3rd party software to manipulate my system with). So yeah, it would be swell if Larian could add this feature for us PC gamers who are sans controllers. lol
