Detect Thoughts in dialogue is dumb
why does it take the modifier for the person talking instead of the modifier of the person casting the spell? Also it displays a wisdom modifier when you go to check it even though its intelligence.

You initially learn the surface thoughts of the creature—what is most on its mind in that moment. As an action, you can either shift your attention to another creature’s thoughts or attempt to probe deeper into the same creature’s mind. If you probe deeper, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw.
Spells like that pretty much always require a saving throw.

yeah thats the problem is that it doesn't do a wisdom saving throw it makes your character do an intelligence check and the more annoying part is the person talking who makes the check and not the one who can cast the spell.
