No, if the hair attachment points are defined accordingly. Some animation will just reuse back-side skeleton nodes making the hair "glued" to the back if it's longer than shoulders. It's a common trick.
A proper solution of course is to implement hair physics but I've only ever seen 3 AAA games doing it correctly (and one of that was Skyrim for which I had to install several mods and also edit the physics engine config to make it look realistic). Given the state of character creator in BG3 that's a tall order.
Anyways, to OP: there are already mods that do it. To link a few:
Hair Addons: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/348
Hair Salon: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/213
All the long hair there works in the first way I described above ("glued hair") - not too bad in all honesty, so long as you're not a physics munchkin, it'll likely be fine for you. Do keep in mind that dealing with mods = accept the fact you will need to deal with patches compatibility as every patch tend to break mods.
I saw the mods before but thanks again for the links and explanation. Since it is stil in early access, I will just go with what the game offers me for now.
They all look like plastic or got wierd things in there hair.
I can not make a long hair elf(short hair elves are heresy) because none of the hair looks like hair.
I can only hope the reason is because it is still in early access and they will actually bring better character customization.
