Are males still ugly?
It's in the title.

Female characters are not surprisingly, drop dead gorgeous and easy to make so, regardless of race etc.

Males on the other hand, particularly a couple of the races, are heinous to behold.

Or so it was back before they introduced druids. I haven't played since then, but can I expect to hate the appearance of any elf I make?

The jawline does bug me.

I'm thinking they will unlock facial types on full release, or that they could, if they wanted to, so fingers crossed.

On start big ears, sharp ears, too thin nose and face are ugly women standards that are more in curves and finesse a nothing huge like elephant ears. So elf stereotype is saying elf female are less beautiful than human female.

If only we could do a survey! For fun!

Who cares about males?
Streeja Jul 4, 2021 @ 7:46am
I want a fantasy experience that is different than real life. I am tired of playing a good looking man irl. In fantasy, I want brutes. Big, ugly, hairy with the beauty of offspring from a yeti that mated with a manatee. Neanderthal would be an improvement kind of brute.

Who is really taking a fighter that looks like Zoolander seriously in a sword fight?

You definitely like your men a certain way...

I do, especially Wyll & how he looks. (but not in a sexual way I swear lol.) 🧐🦸‍♂️

It's hard to roleplay as a female, it breaks too much immersion for me....yet being a man for some reason just feels good, & gets me "in" the game ya know.

So I don't want the men to look unattractive either, & want better face options that at least are equal to my handsome face. ✨😎

Well said. Generally, I feel the same way....well...ok not about Wyl...but the rest yes haha. I enjoy female protagonist when the story is centered around that character say Horizon as an example but when given the choice, I play a male. So yes it does kinda suck that it almost always feels like female character models are much better made than male ones.

Are you guys saying Wyll is attractive? Did I hear that right? I thought he was hideous inside and out. Real ugly and a real jerk on top of everything.
Gale is utterly generic in appearance and, as a character, very immature for a so-called arch wizard (former or not) and annoying as hell.
Astarion is… well, a metrosexual vampire, nuff said. Total turn off.

There is no even remotely attractive male character in this game so far. Not that females are any better. Laezel is a yellow lizard with attitude and Shadowheart is a Karen, with a matching haircut. She is better looking, though,
The vulgar devil girl, on the other hand, is… just… barf. Kill it with barrels.

I didn't but I think someone else was suggesting so. That said hes definitely not the worst looking male character but then attractiveness is also subjective. Both Gale and Astarion don't even enter the realm of attractive to me but to agree with your point I'm not sure any of the males do really it's more like 'cream of the crap'. Of the females Shadowheart is the worst, I do like Laezel as there is something attractive about her though it's probably not physical. The bardess is very attractive though.

Yes, attractiveness is subjective, and it is not just the face. It is the overall looks + mannerisms + voice + quality writing + reactions + secret ingredient.

You can also like the characters (I like Lae Zel the best) without finding them physically attractive or needing them to be physically attractive. A good example would be Mordin and Garrus in Mass Effect. I love the characters but physical attractiveness of the model has nothing to do with it.

Garrus is sooo romanceable.

@ lejes

Exactly, BioWare managed to make a guy who looks like a giant insect very attractive and therefore very, very romanceable. The only time I ever made a female character (played the trilogy million times) was only to experience a romance with my best buddy manly man Garrus.
