It happens in a lot of cases. Disappointing...
I suppose that could be possible, but since she is a level 1, and mentions that she was very dedicated to her studies/lessons when she notices Jergel the Scribe's statue and her devotion and loyalty when cutting her cousin's throat at a command, tells me that she is a bit new to this and not yet 'seasoned'.
Still, regardless of that, I have seen it in a few games and mentioned it. Like when in Dragon Age: Inquisition my female elf became literally the FIRST Elven Templar there should have been SOME big notice or feedback from the NPC's and your crew, even if it was negative it would be SOMETHING... but yea, no mention or notice at all about that feat. It was HIGHLY disappointing. This kind of thing really needs to be fixed in RPG type games, as it seriously breaks immersion, lowers the players 'feel' level of achievement and 'givadamn' to continue playing as they will suspect (possibly rightly so) that other such lore immersive achievements will end the same way, in disappointment, so why bother trying another class.
I thought Inquisition did it better on the whole though. I remember Josephine talking about my aunts parties and knowing my family -I was playing a human noble- and a lot of small things like that. And people generally treated me different or so I understand, that if you play a non human there's prejudice and all that.
Here as a Baldur's gate nobleman, Astarion never heard of me, that Duke's assistant never heard of me and I havent got a single line of dialog. Might as well have been an Innkeeper in the city.
Sorry for the rant. I do hope they fix it. As you say it is highly disappointing and breaks immersion.
Well, Josie did know A LOT of people. Her role as the court appointed diplomat to Orlais and being a trained Bard no less, would give her insight on a lot of people. For her to be speaking to you as one noble to another and the parties that she no doubtingly attended, it makes sense that she would be familiar with them, as would most probably good ol' Viv.
They did do a good job on recognition in that area, but not so much in the 'bigger' things.
I guess I was just really disappointed. Considering the whole history with the Chantry and their Marches against the Elves when they attempted to take over Orlais, and the obvious prejudice one gets as an elf in general, regardless of their standing, I would have thought that one of them becoming THE VERY FIRST Templar would have been a monumentous shockwave whether it was good or bad. An Elf standing not only with the Chantry, but defending it against all evils and abominations.
There was also the point about a Qunari being the Herald of Andraste. The only one whom besides the Mother in Orlais that you had Liliana arrange a meeting with (and hers was just crowd riling, not really any really expoundsive fussing) gave the most reaction was The Iron Bull. Not that he originally liked me being a mage merc 'deserter of the Qun' but he came around eventually and from the interactions, eventually appreciated my PC and her role. So again, some good and some bad, but still overall the big 'shocking' things didn't seem to get much notice or traction.
