Thanks. So, it's basically the intersection of two things I have zero interest in,.
The mod Transmog Enhanced greatly enhanced my gameplay, as I care for visuals, and is on my list for donations. There are many ugly and unfitting items in BG3, being able to change the appearance or make them invisible is a huge enhancement.
That's especially relevant if you use a mod like Basket of Equipment to enlarge the boring range of vanilla armor and clothing we get for wearing (while NPCs have a lot more variants).
So this is not a ‘modern ♥♥♥♥ game’ thing. It’s just what people want because if I don’t like how my character looks I have no interest in the game and intentionally downgrading your gear to keep or match a specific look is dumb.
There were some hints that Larian might put 'transmog' in patch 6. Now, they didn't, and rumors are rumors, but maybe it is on the agenda for patch 7. Who knows? If official mod support does what I hope it will, I WILL be able to use all the transmog mods already out there, so that's just as good.
The one built in feature of the game I love is the hide helms option. First off, because many of the helms are ugly as crap, but second, with most of the ladies, I'd rather be looking at their faces, all the time, anyway. If I had a quibble, it seems to "lose" what you had it set to when the companion leaves your party.
The good clothes are only at the end of ACT 3 though, so if you don't want to wait that long, or want to be shown wearing armor or whatever you want, there are plenty of mods that give you choices to do whatever.
or just use the transmog mod if you want to fiddle with that.
I hate WOW. It's freaking boring and pointless. I want transmogs in this game (and I'll use a mod to get it if I have to). Not sure why that bothers you so much.
Luckily there is a mod doing that in BG3.
I'm avoiding mods for the time being, that's why.
Not sure who said Larian has any "obligation" to do anything, or why you decided to bring that up. Probably because nobody did, and you just couldn't come up with another argument.
Please, explain how a transmog mechanic would bother you.
