Missed the Duel for Love with Laezel?
So having the highest approval rating during Act II, finished all the prerequisites of Voss and the Creche, Laezel has not approached me in the night.

Playing as a Dragonborn and have the 'fling' was immediately cut out the moment I entered Act III (by the campsite). And theres nothing happening further than that. I imagine I was meant to have that Duel she ask during one of my Long Rest in Act II, but it never happened? Is there any way to have the Duel happen on Act III if I had missed it?

I watched my friend do the duel during our multiplayer play through and he was getting his ass kicked. So I tossed a health pot on him and she got pissed at my character and told me to stay out of their fight.

Pretty cool.

So theres no chance of me getting it in act III?

As always, there are Romance guides at Nexus, a lot of people claim the companions are horny teenagers constantly throwing themselves at you, but in reality there is some complexity to the romances and their progression ... anyway, here's Lae'Zel's.

AFAICT, the "battle for love" appears to usually take place in Act 2. (I'm unsure if that means it's impossible to happen in Act 3. That isn't stated. Seems that way, though.)

I had the duel for love with Lae'zel in act two, at least I can tell you that much, as it was shadowlands camp map. You should just do some extra camps, if it really is a requirement to have it in act two.

Just hoping its not exclusively for Act II, I've seen through the guides, none of them specified it 'could' happen in Act III. I was stumped when I did the Dryad love test at the beginning of Act III in the circus show.

They cut a lot of Act III content, so you have to have it locked in before you go to Baldur's Gate.

It seems you need the scene in act two, otherwise the relationship comes to an end.

Yeah, sounds like something definitely went wrong.
I had the challenge to the duel pop up after my second or third LR in act 2.
If it didn't, either you missed some condition of continuing the romance or something glitched on you.

I think that's an Act 2 thing. I've never had it happen in Act 1 or Act 3.

I think you just have to take enough long rests in Act 2 for it to trigger.

They need to fix all the romance triggers and how they work with long rests. Basically you need to long/partial rest more frequently if you want things to trigger properly. Like after every quest in the story you should long/partial rest to ensure you don't miss triggers.

I learned this after being frustrated with the Shadowheart Swim scene. Guide would say some crap like "After multiple long rests" and you rest 10 times and nothing triggers. What they really mean is you have to long rest, go do a quest and long rest again. Doing this multiple times.

Missing a romance trigger will cause future romance triggers to never show up. Which you will miss triggers if you just barrel through the game.
