Way too many critical misses
so my tavern brawler throwing barb has 90-99% hit chance and never less than that and yet somehow approximately 30-35% of his throws are critical misses. Am i missing something? what might be the reason of such a high number? i've estimated it over the course of this entire playtrough, ever since i picked tavern brawler at lvl4 situation was the same up until now in act3

Have you, by any chance, not turned off the karmic dice?

Once your hit chance is 95%, you will only critical miss because even a 2 will be a hit.

I suggest respec'ing out of Tavern brawler so you can experience more regular misses and it will therefore feel like you have less critical misses.

i have turned off the karmic dice yes. And yes, i do understand that only misses i've got are the critical ones, but they sould make a grad total of ~5% out of my attacks, and yet just now i've achieved 3 misses in a row

Sounds like you broke the bounded accuracy with the Tavern Brawler feat. Is it even fun to play with that high of a hit chance? Just curious as it doesn't sound like a challenge.

This game is not a challenge if you have proper build/Gear.

That’s just how it is.

For example.

Here's me defeating Tactician cazador before he gets his first turn.

I should stop role-playing and start kicking butt, lol.

The game is out to get you. The developers have secretly created an anti-player bias in the RNG, because they want the players to feel bad. It is true because I say so.

This is not how it works.

You need to do hundreds of rolls to get it consistently around 5% and over the course of the game, with thousands of rolls, you should experience all manner of strange anomalies.

That's why for example rogue 11+ is something special; they no longer roll <10 with skill checks.

Roll your dice better!
Roll like you mean it!
This is the only way!

Streaks happen even in "truly" random number samplings. 5% doesn't mean that you'll only miss once every single set of 20 rolls. It means when you zoom out to the big picture, only 1 in 20 rolls on average was a miss. It is well within the realm of possibility for 20 of those misses to have been all back to back. It's also well within the realm of possbilities to go 100+ rolls without seeing a miss come up even once. But when you zoom out to 1000 or more rolls, it's going to average out to 1 in 20.

As has been said many times, the dice don't care what the last roll was. That 5% chance is only for each individual roll. What the last roll came up as doesn't matter, nor does the result affect what the next roll will be.
