New NVIDIA app, lower performance
I have had consistent 100fps + until this new nvidia app came out. I noticed that bg3 does not have a game profile in there like it did in geforce experience.

Has this affected anyone else?

Didn't notice any difference, but I also never enabled the auto-settings for games in the app, it's usually worse than what I can set manually.

Maybe the update enabled the background video recording it offers?

I fear to upgrade to be honest. I let others play the early adopters, because often plenty of things go bad if something like this gets introduced.

But my guess is that there are just other settings used for the game now (especially because there is no profile and was one before).

In any case you can just go to the graphics settings and fine tune it yourself (but might make it even worse if you dont know what you are doing).

I noticed that it re-"optimized" games and only listed about half of them, so I had to play with the in-game settings again to get it back to the way I want.

no issues on my end either i dont allow app to optimise games since it tries to make my 3060ti run everything in 1440p its a freaking 1080p card

I don't let Geforce Experience decide my settings, I use ingame settings manually for a good reason. Most of the optimise isn't really that optimised, it usually just makes things worse. So I always turn off auto optimise.

I did not change any of my settings though, and an getting a worse performance

Thanks for your post!

You essentially alerted me of this "new" app. I just installed it. It feels a bit odd in the beginning, but it looks much more streamlined - better!

It grabbed everything I had in GE, including login and BG3.

As for fps drop? I feel no difference after loading an old save. As long as BG3 runs at a minimum of 60+ fps on default Ultra, I personally wouldn't care if it's 100 or 200 or just 65. BTW, I use their studio driver, not the game ready one.

Worth to conclude that threadstarter might need to run DDU.
